Three Technion Research Projects Featured in the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology’s “Israeli Science” Exhibition at the Knesset

Three research projects led by Technion scientists were featured in the Israeli Science exhibition at the Knesset, which showcased 14 groundbreaking applied research projects funded by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.

The Technion projects presented at the exhibition were:

  • Prof. Naama Geva-Zatorsky of the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Daniel Ramez of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering: “A Look Inside the Gut” – engineered bacteria that can detect diseases and respond by producing therapeutic compounds.
  • PhD candidate Julia Saleh-Natur and Prof. Ehud Behar of the Faculty of Physics: “Small and Smart” – the tiny cube that outperforms giant satellites in detecting bursts of radiation from exploding stars.
  • Prof. Merav Aharon Gutman of the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning: “Social Topography: Reimagining Socio-Spatial Relations through Immersive 3D Modeling.”

The exhibition was presented as part of a national initiative led by Prof. Miri Yemini of the Technion, who serves as chief scientist of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. The initiative aims to integrate senior academic scientists into leadership roles within government ministries to support data-driven decision-making.

According to the Ministry of Innovation, “The Israeli Science exhibition is a tribute to Israel’s scientific excellence and to the generation of researchers who expand the boundaries of what is possible every day, strengthening Israel’s position at the forefront of global science and innovation.”
