Congratulations to Prof. Ashraf Brik
The Technion is proud to announce that Prof. Ashraf Brik of the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry has been awarded the Max Bergmann Medal 2026 by the Max-Bergmann-Kreis e.V. in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to site-specific protein modification.
Prof. Brik’s pioneering research has transformed our ability to design and modify proteins precisely, significantly advancing the fields of peptide and protein chemistry and chemical biology. His work continues to open new avenues for basic research and innovative therapeutic development.
Since 1980, the Max Bergmann Medal has been presented annually at the Max Bergmann Conference to researchers who have made outstanding contributions to peptide chemistry. Over the decades, the medal has recognized leading scientists worldwide whose discoveries have shaped the understanding of biologically active molecules.
The Max Bergmann Medal will be awarded to Prof. Brik on October 6, 2026, in a special session of the Max Bergmann Conference. We warmly congratulate Prof. Brik on this distinguished international honor and celebrate this remarkable achievement with the entire Technion community.
