{"id":84741,"date":"2021-04-14T14:57:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T11:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.technion.ac.il\/blog\/a-paragon-of-love\/"},"modified":"2021-04-14T14:57:06","modified_gmt":"2021-04-14T11:57:06","slug":"a-paragon-of-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.technion.ac.il\/en\/blog\/a-paragon-of-love\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;A Paragon of Love&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In honor of Israel&#8217;s 73rd Independence Day, a beacon was <\/span>lit this evening by Dr. Dror Dicker, Director of Internal Medicine and the Multidisciplinary Center for the Treatment of Obesity at Hasharon Hospital and a graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion (Class of 1991), The selection committee for this year&#8217;s torch-bearers commended Dr. Dicker&#8217;s work as: &#8220;a paragon of love in the days of Corona: the love of man as a person and a love of the medical profession.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Dicker, who was born in Hasharon Hospital, began working there at the age of 16 as a nurse. His father was director of the hospital at the time and his mother was an ECG technician. After completing his medical studies at the Technion, Dr. Dicker returned to the hospital, this time as a physician, where he progressed to the management of the Internal Medicine Department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last year, the department he headed was converted into a Corona ward.
