Indeed, models are central in almost every task in signal and image processing and machine learning. Sparse representation theory (Sparseland) presents a highly effective and universal model, which has been shown to lead to state-of-the-art results in numerous applications.\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are delighted to announce a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on sparse representations, constructed by<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.technion.ac.il\/~elad\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prof. Michael Elad<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0from the Technion\u2019s Computer Science Department. This new edX course is made up of two sessions, each running five weeks: the first session presents basic theoretical ideas of sparse representations, and the second connects this model to applications in image processing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are interested in advanced topics in signal and image processing, please join us in\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edx.org\/professional-certificate\/israelx-sparse-representations-from-theory-to-practice\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this course<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Note that registration has already opened, and the course will begin on October 25.
