Prof. Roy Kishony lectures to outstanding students in China<\/strong><\/p>\n Prof. Roy Kishony of the Faculty of Biology and Life Sciences & Engineering delivered a lecture on \u201cMathematics and Big Data in the Life Sciences\u201d to outstanding students in China. The lecture was part of Project Prometheus, which brings together leading scientists from around the world and outstanding science students.<\/p>\n Prof. Kishony\u2019s lecture was part of a three-day event at Shantou University, which hosted lecturers from the Technion, Stanford and Yale Universities, King\u2019s College London and the Max Planck Institute of Germany. The students, who are considered the \u201cChina\u2019s scientists of the future and engineers of tomorrow,\u201d heard scientists speak about their research on open questions in science and a career in science, and witnessed some of their passion for science. The event was hosted by the Li Ka Shing Foundation, supported by Ministry of Education and the People\u2019s Government of Guangdong Province, co-organized by the Chinese Society of Education, and Shantou University.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Chinese students made a deep impression on me,\u201d said Kishony. \u201cThey are very knowledgeable and are full of enthusiasm for science.
