Dan and Betty Kahn Mechanical Engineering Building<\/strong>, and the\u00a0<strong>Farkas \/ Stone Family Facilities<\/strong>. Additional dedications included the\u00a0<strong>Allen and Jewel Prince Molecular Immunology Research Laboratory Complex<\/strong>\u00a0in the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine; and an apartment in the Zielony Graduate Student Village in honor of\u00a0<strong>Roslyn and Leonard Rosen, and Ira, Shelly, Sydney, Alex and Julia Taub.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prizes recognized research innovation and academic excellence, and there was a celebration in honor of\u00a0<strong>Amos Horev\u2019s 90th birthday<\/strong>. Gen (Res.) Other invited speakers included Aharon Aharon, Senior Director, Apple Israel, who addressed the question: \u201cIsraeli High-Tech: Is There a Recipe for Success?\u201d and Prof. Dan Ben-David, Executive Director, Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel, who will spoke on \u201cThe Start-Up Nation\u2019s Threat from Within,\u201d as part of a session on education as the key to closing social gaps.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Three new Technion scientists told their personal stories,\u00a0<strong>\u201cWhy I Chose Technion.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Another highlight was a visit to the\u00a0<strong>\u201cLABSCAPES\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0exhibition, where 29 enlarged and stunning views through the microscope are on display in the Elyachar Central Library Gallery.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Roundtable discussion groups were held on key Technion issues: Encouraging Technion faculty and students to begin start-ups; Technion as a global institution; increasing the number of women students and faculty; increasing the number of candidates, nationally, for science and technology studies; and, how to increase support and activity by Technion alumni.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Awards to public figures and Technion supporters:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<p><strong>Honorary Doctors<\/strong><br \/>\nAndrei Zary Broder, USA<br \/>\nDoreen Brown Green, Canada<br \/>\nProf. Alan Dershowitz, USA<br \/>\nRaphael Mehoudar, Israel<br \/>\nRuth Rappaport, Switzerland\/Israel<br \/>\nProf. Peter J.
