 		 The subject of research in Dr. Ciechanover's group involves the elucidation of the mode of action and regulation of the ubiquitin system for intracellular protein degradation . 
They are interested in the possible relation between the basic cellular process and the pathogenesis of malignancies and immune disorders.  Specifically , they use molecular, biochemical and cellular approaches toi study the mechanisms involved in 
the degradation of ncoproteins , tumor suppressors , and transcriptional activators and the mode of processing of antigens presented on class I MHC molecules.
