Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology was created in 1998 as a result of a merger of the
Division of Morphological Sciences with Cell Biology.  As a result, this new unit is the largest
academic department in the pre-clinical sciences of the Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.
The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology is responsible for teaching anatomical sciences
(Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Histology, Embryology) and cellular biology to medical
students.Anatomical sciences and cell biology are also taught to Nursing students and
Occupational Therapy students.
