Located in the beautiful "green sea" of Washtenaw County, Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is a great place at which to study. A small and personal college with a diverse student population and vast educational curriculum. I am glad I spent about two years there as a jump start to my higher education.
After completing my military service in Israel, my newlywed wife and I moved to Ann Arbor. The plan was to continue our education. We decided on attending WCC as it was welcoming and friendly. We also heard of it's great transfer program to other universities (such as U of Michigan), so it seemed like a very logical place to begin our academic studies. Another important factor in our decision was the huge financial differences in tuition between community colleges and universities (more than triple the difference in tuition payment!).
So in small classes with a very homey atmosphere I completed most of the requirements for the undergraduate degree that included my major, psychology. I studied English, Biology, Anthropology, Philosophy, History and more, and enjoyed it very much!
My wife and I were also active in extra curricular activities at WCC. We were hosts on Orchard Radio, took part in organized student trips, and other student activities there.
I completed about 55 credit units and finished with an average of 3.95 (which was erased when I transferred the credits to U of M). I made The Dean's List for 3 semesters. Afterwards, I continued my BA studies at U of M but WCC will always have a warm place in my heart.
