Israeli Defense Forces - The Paratroopers

When I turned 18 I enlisted in the IDF. I decided to volunteer for the paratrooper’s unit. I had the honor to serve in that great unit and made friends that will last a life time.

The highlight of my service was definitely paratrooping school. I jumped 5 times in various conditions. It is just amazing how peaceful it is to jump out of planes! Hopefully I will get to do this not in uniform one of those days.

I am also proud to have participated in the hike for my red beret that lasted about 90 KM and 18 hours.

Of course there were some down times in my service. I injured my back and had to move to serve in a more administrative position away from the "front line".

Overall I am glad I had the opportunity to serve my country. I learned a lot about myself and one of the biggest lessons of all that: "everything is in your head"...
