The Library
The Agricultural Engineering Library was founded in the early 1960s in two schoolrooms improvised for the purpose and moved in the early 1980s to its new and expanded premises.
The library houses approximately 20,000 books and publications, accessed via the ALEPH catalog system, 100 current periodical titles, and about 5000 bound periodical volumes. Subjects range from soil science, fertilizers, irrigation and drainage, water resources, field crops and botany, to automotive engineering, ecology, animal science and aquaculture. In addition, subjects such as mechanics, mathematics, operations research and computer science supplement the existing reservoir, and a collection of commercial catalogues greatly assist students in planning their final projects.
The library is computerized. The Technion Library provides access to various DATABASES relevant and pertaining to the subjects studied in the Technion. Of particular relevance to the library is the CAB DATABASE, covering all areas of agriculture and agricultural engineering.
