Pilot plant film flow evaporator

film flow evaportor Thin plates on which brines are evaporated. Used to develop scale-free evaporator that would enable zero-discharge. This unit was designed and constructed with the generous support of IDE and DSW.

RO pilot units

Four RO pilot units are available: A Nirosoft Ltd. unit and three in house designed and built units adopted for research purposes. All membrane pilot systems described here, were purchased or built with the generosity of Lyn & Malcolm Chaikin.

Nirosoft System Antiscalant System Silica System
System made by Nirosoft Ltd. In-House built system for antiscalant testing In-House built system for silica fouling study

NF / UF pilot unit

NF / UF System This unit supplied by Membrane products, Kiryat Weitzman, is used in both teaching and research projects.

Memcor MF pilot unit

This pilot unit, acquired with the generosity of Lyn & Malcolm Chaikin, is a 4m2 MF unit with facility for air backwash.

MF / UF bench top membrane unit

The small bench top unit, made and partly donated by Dr. A. Golan of A/G Technologies Inc., compliments the research capabilities of the Memcor unit. It enables small scale testing on a wide range of membranes.

ED membrane system

This newly added system to the laboratory made by Asahi Glass Co. and fitted with Selemion membranes includes one cell of an electrodialysis (ED) system. It was acquired with the generosity of Lyn & Malcolm Chaikin.

Coulter LS230 laser diffraction system for particle size measurement

This sophisticated instrument, purchased through the support of the Beracha Foundation, measures the size distribution of particles in the range of 40nm to 2mm.
