The senior staff of the Rabin Desalination Laboratory (RDL), Profs. D. Hasson and R. Semiat, are active members of the Israel Desalination Society (IDS)

Some of the main activities, organized in cooperation with the DF, WRI and other institutions, are as follows: 

• A two day conference on "Desalination in Israel - Present & Future" 5-6 May, 1998, Butler Auditorium, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. 
 
• A three day workshop on "Fouling Mitigation in Membrane Processes" 26-28 January 1999, Auditorium of the Chemical Engineering Dept., Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. 
 
• Founding of the Israel Desalination Society (IDS) . Government registration approved on 12 May, 1999. 
 
• A one day conference on "Large Sea-Water Desalination Projects" 7 December,1999, Butler Auditorium, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
 
• “New Developments in the Treatment and Desalination of Effluents, Brackish and other Marginal Waters"  Tel - Aviv, 12 December, 2000
