Membrane Scaling and Fouling Mitigation Measures - Antiscalant Testing

Investigators: Markus Busch, Yulia Galperin and Alexander Drak
Supervisors: Prof. David Hasson and Prof. Raphael Semiat
Rabin Desalination Laboratory, WRI, Faculty of Chemical Eng., Technion, Israel

Project abstract:

The objectives of this project are to develop and test laboratory techniques for characterizing the scaling propensity of feed waters and for assessing the relative effectiveness of various antiscalants. Three different scaling characterization techniques are being developed: a batch recycle technique, a once through technique and an intermittent recycle technique.
